James Corden Urges Viewers to Help Unite Migrant Families: It’s Not a Political Issue, It’s a ‘Human Decency Issue’

James Corden made an emotional plea to viewers on Wednesday night to do what they can to help migrant children who have been separated from their parents at the southern border.

All of this week, Corden is taping his show in London, but being an ocean away didn’t stop him from weighing in on the crisis, which should subside after President Donald Trump signed his executive order stopping the separation of illegal immigrant families.

“I’m sure you have all seen these images, images of families being forcibly separated at the US-Mexico border, immigrant children laying in cages, it’s nothing short of horrific,” Corden said. “I don’t think this is an American political issue, I think this is simply a human decency issue. And there’s not a person that I know or a single person that I have met three years since I’ve lived in America who is okay with this, who would think this is okay. But rather than sit here and tell you about something you already know is awful, we thought that maybe it would be more productive to just tell you what you could do to help these families be reunited.”

The Late Late Show host then plugged RAICES, The Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services, in Texas that provides lawyers for immigrant children and pays the bonds for their incarcerated parents.

“If you can contribute, please help reunite these families because immigrant children are children and immigrant parents are parents,” Corden continued, “and every child deserves to be with their parents.”
