Joe Scarborough Wants You to Remember He Warned You About Trump and Nukes
Yesterday, from a “working vacation” at his resort in Bedminster, New Jersey, President Donald Trump promised to rain down “fire and fury” on North Korea should provocations from the country continue.
So that’s horrifying.
Yet as the mushroom cloud of fire inches ever closer — MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough took some time Wednesday morning to repeatedly remind everyone that he warned us about Trump’s fascination with nuclear weapons back in 2016 and it’s a real shame America didn’t listen.
The former Florida congressman opened Morning Joe today by playing a clip from his show in which he reported that Donald Trump had unsettlingly asked about the use of the U.S. nuclear arsenal.
“A foreign policy expert on an international level went to advise Donald Trump and three times he asked about the use of nuclear weapons,” said a solemn Scarborough on August 3, 2016. “Three times he asked, at one point, if we have them, why can’t we use them”
“Be careful America and be careful Republican leaders,” said co-host Mika Brzezinski at the time, playing an admirable Diamond to Joe’s Silk.
In addition to replaying the clip at both 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., Scarborough and show Senior Producer Jesse Rodriguez went hard on the clip on Twitter as well.
