John Mayer Admits His New Song is About Ex Katy Perry

Looks like John Mayer has taken a page out of Taylor Swift‘s book and written a song about his ex-girlfriend, Katy Perry. In a new interview with the New York Times, he talks about his return to popular music, including the song, “Still Feel Like Your Man.”

“Who else would I be thinking about?” he asks. “And by the way, it’s a testament to the fact that I have not dated a lot of people in the last five, six years. That was my only relationship. So it’s like, give me this, people.”

Perry and Mayer dated on and off for three years, and the relationship came to an end in 2015. Now that he’s about to turn 40, he told The Times he’s ready to settle down. “I’m right on time for my career, and I’m running late for my life,” he said.

Mayer did say he was on a dating app. Don’t get too excited, though. It’s an exclusive one, and he says that not much comes of it. Plus, he doesn’t have much time this year. Along with the new album, The Search For Everything, he’ll be on tour for a while.
