Lindsey Graham Calls For Hillary Clinton Special Counsel Before Mueller Report Released: Anyone Else Would Be ‘In Jail Now’
The House unanimously passed a resolution on Thursday calling for special counsel Robert Mueller‘s final report to be made public. One key Senator, though, wants some strings attached.
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) blocked that resolution when it reached the Senate, calling for an investigation into Hillary Clinton to be undertaken first.
Speaking on the Senate Floor Thursday afternoon, Graham called for a special counsel to be appointed to investigate “the abuses, potentially, by the Department of Justice and the FBI regarding the Clinton email investigation.”
“Was there two systems of justice in 2016?” Graham said. “One for the Democratic candidate and one for the Republican candidate?”
He added, “If the shoe were on the other foot…All hell would pay.”
Graham referenced the tarmac meeting between former Attorney General Loretta Lynch and former President Bill Clinton, as well as a number of unfounded claims which are prominent in conservative circles.
“Any American out there who did what Secretary Clinton did, you’d be in jail now,” Graham said. “The question I want to know is, does anybody other than me believe that?”
