Man Proposes to Girlfriend During L.A. Times Newsroom Tour

Who knew the news could be so romantic?

A couple on tour in the L.A. Times newsroom ended up getting engaged after the lucky fellow in question popped the question in the middle of the newsroom as staffers watched it unfold.

A Times reporter told Poynter no one in the newsroom knew the couple, but they were told in advance the proposal was coming and so they basically played along by pretending to be busy until the big moment came.

The man in question wanted to propose in the newsroom because, someone at the Times explained, “his girlfriend is a writer and editor, and… the newsroom wouldn’t just be suitable, but unique.”

The Times captured this Vine of the happy moment.
