Martha Stewart Viewers Rush To Enter Contest (That Was Over In March)

You know when you’re watching a TV show and the host asks the audience to call in, or reminds viewers that what they’re watching is being aired live and some helpful text appears explaining that that’s not actually the case because the show is being “repeated from an earlier broadcast”? Well, it seems that that helpful text was missed by a lot of viewers watching this morning’s broadcast of The Martha Show as a ton of fans rushed to their computer to tweet the message “I want a KitchenAid mixer” as per Martha Stewart’s instructions in the hopes of winning the device. Unfortunately, the winner of the contest has had their mixer for months since the episode happened to be a rerun from March.

Of course, things could have been much worse than they ended up. Since the contest used Twitter as the means to apply, Stewart (or whoever runs her Twitter) was able to notice all of the mixer-related “@replies” she was getting relatively quickly and set the records straight with this tweet:

We can only imagine that, had the contest asked viewers to do something complicated or time consuming instead of typing in a quick message on their computers, then things might have gotten a bit stickier for the media mogul. As it was, she still felt the need to fend off any residual disappointment or resentment amongst fans with this second tweet:

We’re going to take a wild leap and assume that another kitchen device will be given away by The Martha Show sometime in the very near future.

Below is the clip showing the opening of the show where the “Previously Recorded” text can be seen. Also, stools!
