Mediaite Is Now Hiring a Full-Time Writer!
Mediaite is looking for an ambitious, energetic, reporter to analyze the names, the brands, the gossip, the digerati of news, politics, pop culture, and entertainment. You would be writing news stories and occasional opinion pieces using any and all of the tools of digital storytelling: Words, video, pictures, social interactions, book excerpts, you name it.
If you think you have what it takes and want to impact the news cycle then we want to talk to you.
Requirements:
You should have a clear, concise, and in-depth knowledge of the world of news, politics and media, including online personalities, major cable and broadcast networks, leading columnists, and general thought-leaders.

The ideal candidate has the strength to cover up-to-the-minute developments in harrowing breaking news and can punch-up articles on the funniest viral sensation from the Ellen show in the same hour.
Just as important, you should also have the ability to find those unique stories that no one else has tracked down yet— how good are your quick investigative skills from all corners of the internet? Can you find that nugget, story or controversy that has fallen under the radar?
Executing under pressure is key, and you will need to excel when stress levels are at their highest. You should have a clear understanding of how Twitter, user-generated content, and viral videos that are shaping the news cycle.
A strong news judgment and an eye for underreported content and ideas are key.
You should have the ability to write an “objective” news article at one moment, and transition into writing an opinionated column the next. Lastly, a familiarity with WordPress is a must.
