Michael Avenatti Says He Has ‘ZERO Interest’ in Running for Office

In a set of tweets Sunday, Michael Avenatti announced he would not seek to enter certain political positions despite the encouragement he’s received, but he told Mediaite he won’t rule out a short-term career in the field.
“I am extremely flattered by the suggestions that I attempt to become AG or run for the House or Senate but I have ZERO interest in those jobs,” he said, adding that he feels there are “too many” politicos already.
I am extremely flattered by the suggestions that I attempt to become AG or run for the House or Senate but I have ZERO interest in those jobs. None. I don’t want to become a career politician. We have too many as it is…

In a follow-up tweet, Avenatti affirmed his commitment to “exposing the truth about Mr. Trump’s conduct and fighting like hell for the principles that matter so the American people can decide what happens next.”

Discussing potential future plans further, Avenatti told Mediaite that he has only decided against running for attorney general and seats within the House and the Senate in particular. However, he may consider other positions.
“I am not interested in a long career in politics,” he said. “If people want me to run for a specific position, it interests me, and I think I can win, I will consider it.”
Avenatti entered the spotlight as the personal attorney for porn actress Stormy Daniels, who is waging a legal battle against President Donald Trump over a non-disclosure agreement regarding their alleged past affair.
