Navy Admiral Slams Colin Kaepernick During Pearl Harbor Ceremony, Receives Standing Ovation
A US Navy Admiral slammed the National Anthem protests in the NFL and other sports led by Colin Kaepernick during a ceremony commemorating the 75th anniversary of Pearl Harbor Day — and he received a standing ovation from the crowd in attendance.
US Pacific Command commander Adm. Harry Harris made the comments towards the end of the 90-minute ceremony at Pearl Harbor.
“You can bet that the men and women we honor today — and those who died that fateful morning 75 years ago — never took a knee and never failed to stand whenever they heard our National Anthem being played,” Harris said.
The Admiral never mentioned Kaepernick specifically, although it appeared clear that the remark was directed at him and others in the sports world who have followed his lead.
