NBC’s Chris Jansing Asks Spicer If Trump Has a ‘Credibility Problem’

During today’s White House press briefing, NBC’s Chris Jansing asked Sean Spicer if President Trump has a “credibility problem.”

Jansing brought up Trump’s tweet yesterday falsely claiming 122 prisoners were released from Gitmo under the Obama administration when the vast majority of those were released under the Bush administration. Spicer corrected the tweet yesterday, but Jansing asked him if Trump would retract the claim himself.

She brought up Trump’s past tweets about widespread voter fraud and wiretapping and asked, “Does the president have a credibility problem?”

Spicer again said Trump “meant the total number of people” and drew a distinction in Bush administration releases of detainees versus the Obama administration’s.
