Ocasio-Cortez Mocks Fox & Friends Segment Calling Her ‘Manchurian Candidate’: I Pay Staff to Do Their Jobs
Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is brushing off a Fox & Friends segment in which she was dismissed as a puppet for some nefarious, communist plot to take control of America.
Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee joined the Fox News morning show on Thursday to poke fun at Ocasio-Cortez, and argue that her becoming the face of the Democratic Party is “the best thing that Donald Trump and the Republicans have going for them in 2020.”
Brian Kilmeade noted that he saw people writing questions for Ocasio-Cortez when she grilled Michael Cohen and Wilbur Ross in their respective congressional hearings.
“There are some forces behind her. I think there’s a story there,” Kilmeade said.
“Well, there very well could be,” Huckabee said. “I know there have been some allegations that she was almost like the Manchurian candidate – recruited, prepared. You know, I don’t know.”
Ocasio-Cortez has noticed that characterization, and says she’s more amused than offended:
You know what’s amusing about this whole thing?
Our leg staff (who help w Qs) *also* worked in restaurants, grew up in Appalachian trailer parks, and come from immigrant families.
Wait until they find out I actually PAY them to do their jobs, coach them myself,& offer feedback. https://t.co/sd888Uxx0M
