Yesterday, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Blond Ambition, a biopic about Madonna‘s early years, has been picked up by Universal. The script, written by Elyse Hollander, is her first, and in 2016 it was at the top of Hollywood’s Black List, which is the list of the best-liked scripts that didn’t get produced.

The film will reportedly be set in the 1980s, shortly after Madonna moved to New York when she was working on her first album, which included hits like “Holiday” and “Borderline.”

Today, Madonna took to Instagram to seemingly express her disapproval for the project. She posted a photo of herself with the caption, “Nobody knows what I know and what I have seen. Only I can tell my story. Anyone else who tries is a charlatan and a fool. Looking for instant gratification without doing the work. This is a disease in our society.”
