Oops! Department of Defense Retweets Account Calling on Trump to Resign

So, this happened today.
For a brief period of time today, the Department of Defense’s official Twitter account had a tweet showing up on its timeline calling for President Donald Trump to resign.
The account — @ProudResister, imagine that — sent out a tweet today following the Al Franken bombshell stating that Franken should resign, Roy Moore should drop out of the Senate race. And, yes, Donald Trump should quit. This was then retweeted by the DoD account.
The Defense Department's official Twitter account — @deptofdefense — retweeted a comment saying Trump should resign. It's since been unretweeted pic.twitter.com/bLA8QAo4Sc

And one can’t say that this was an innocent mistaken click because, as we all know, a retweet takes two clicks.
Eventually, it was noticed and the retweet was undone. The Pentagon stated that this was done erroneously and after the operator caught it, the tweet was quickly deleted.
An authorized operator of the @DeptofDefense’s official Twitter site erroneously retweeted content that would not be endorsed by the Department of Defense. The operator caught this error and immediately deleted it.

Whoever runs the Proud Resister Twitter account was obviously pleased that this occurred, as the account retweeted outlets who had done articles on the DoD’s flub.
