President Bush’s Daughter Barbara “Glad” Health Care Reform Passed

Even when he was in office one frequently got the sense that the best thing about former President George W. Bush was his wife and daughters. Recently former First Lady Laura Bush made some headlines after declaring her support for Elena Kagan, President Obama’s choice for SCOTUS. And now their daughter Barbara — normally the quieter of the twins — has gone on record supporting health care reform.

Why do people with money have good health care and people with lower salaries not have good health care? Health should be a right for everyone.

Bush is the founder and president of Global Health Corps, an organization which promotes global health equity in the U.S. and abroad and before you think she is on a Obama taking points mission she apparently got inspired to get in this line of work after traveling in Africa with her parents. However, when pressed by Chris Wallace on what she thinks of Obama’s health care she (very smoothly) conceded she was glad that it had passed. Alas, the Bush juniors have no plans to get into politics. Watch below.
