Protesters Gather in Chicago After Video Released of Police Shooting
Protesters immediately took to the streets in Chicago after the police department released video of an officer repeatedly shooting 17-year-old Laquan McDonald:

Protesters have been chanting things like “16 shots,” the number of times Officer Jason Van Dyke shot at McDonald.

McDonald’s family asked that all protests be peaceful, a message echoed by Mayor Rahm Emanuel before the video was released.
