By now you may have heard those reports about Trump lawyer Michael Cohen being a deputy RNC finance chair. As of today, per RNC spokeswoman Kayleigh McEnany, this is apparently still the case.
Cheddar anchor and Mediaite alum JD Durkin asked McEnany if he’s “still in that position.”
She said he indeed is, and added that the raid on his office last week was “a complete invasion of attorney-client privilege.”
“We stand behind Michael Cohen,” McEnany said, “we’ll see how the facts play out, but he is still with us, yes.”
Durkin asked if the RNC is considering asking Cohen to step down. She responded, “There’s a legal case playing out, we don’t weigh into legal matters. He stands with us, he’s been a great ally of this President, and he’s still at the RNC. And should that change… you’ll find out.”
Cohen, of course, is going to court today a week after his office was raided by the FBI in an ongoing investigation that is really, really worrying people close to President Trump. Trump himself publicly teed off after the raid.
