Today on his radio show, Rush Limbaugh received a call from Janice, an unemployed woman from Colorado, who wanted to discuss the now dead omnibus bill. Together they railed against the Democrats with Limbaugh pointing that they are a political party that “profits off creating misery.” The best quotes came at the end, though, as he explained that “almost all” of the working poor are Conservative while the lazy, unworking poor are Democrats. I see.
“LIMBAUGH: Let me tell you something. The working poor are almost always Conservative. The unworking poor are Democrats and Liberals.
CALLER: You know, you’re absolutely right. You’re absolutely right.
LIMBAUGH: [Bo] Snerdley’s frowning as though he doesn’t get it. What’s so hard to understand? The working poor are Conservative. Meaning they’re working. They’re poor but they’re working. The unworking poor, sitting around watching Oprah, Democrats.”
Well, that’s a pretty ridiculous quote and generalization. It would probably be pretty hard to disprove though…UNLESS the very caller Limbaugh was talking about had just described herself as Conservative, poor, and unemployed. Of course, she already explained that her Liberal friends said she was an “oxymoron,” so I guess that explains that.
Either way, it’s a fun quote. It will be even more fun if we get to hear fake Rush Limbaugh say it.
