SB Police Chief Confirms Two Suspects Dead, Third Detained, ‘Possible’ Terrorism Link

Screen Shot 2015-12-02 at 8.58.41 PMDuring a press conference Wednesday night, police chief Jarrod Burguan told reporters officers killed two suspects, a man and a woman, during a gun battle following the mass shooting at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, CA. Police also detained a third person who fled the scene of the gun battle.

An FBI agent confirmed investigators have not ruled out possible links to terrorism.

Burguan said the suspects were “dressed and equipped” to fight, wearing black clothing and tactical gear. Assault style weapons were used, but there is no information about the specific make and model at this time. Police did not find pipe bombs or explosives in the vehicle, despite reports that the suspect threw devices at police.

Burguan also confirmed police are investigating reports that one of the suspects was at a holiday party or meeting at the IRC and left angrily during the event. Burguan said there is no evidence thus far linking the shooters with any person who left the center earlier today.
