Shooting Reported on Tennessee Naval Base

 

Two people have been shot at the National Guard armory on the Millington Naval Base, near Memphis, Tennessee according to reports from CBS affiliate WREG. The station reported that the shooter had just been fired from the base and later returned with a gun and opened fire. The shooter is currently in custody and a shelter-in-place order was given on the property as a precaution.


The official Navy Twitter account confirmed the shooting at 2:25pm ET:

UPDATE (3:07pm ET): Fox News’ Shepard Smith delivered an update on the situation in Tennessee at approximately 2:30pm ET, confirming that the shooting did happen on the Millington Naval Base property and that the shooter in custody is a man. He said that “disciplinary action” led to the shooting. According to NBC News, the two people shot are in “noncritical condition.”
