Slow Clap For Congress: Approved Of By 82% of Americans

You know how sometimes the perfect thing exists on the Internet and somehow you miss it?

Somehow we missed this: Slow Clap for Congress.

Barring the possibility that this clapping is sarcastic, we can assume that these are a few of the 18% of Americans who approve of how Congress is doing its job.

TechPresident.com explains that the idea began with this tweet from developer Chris Ashworth:

When the debt deal goes through can we start a meme where we all make videos of ourselves slowly & sarcastically applauding our politicians?

The Internet obliged.

I mean – of course it did. This is one of the things that the Internet in the age of YouTube and omnipresent cameras and smartasses is best at: simple, distributed expressions of displeasure. YouTubing truth to power.

Charles Foster Kane approves.
