South Carolina Lt. Gov. Compares Poor Children To “Stray Animals”

Lt. Governor André Bauer compared poor people to stray animals, who should not be fed lest they start to reproduce. The comment comes as a bit of a shock as Bauer has managed to mostly keep his nose clean despite working directly under America’s favorite hiker, Governor Mark Sanford. Given the experience South Carolinians underwent with their Republican overlords this past year, it would have already been difficult for Bauer to keep the seat red, but now he has to run away from both Sanford’s large shadow and his own comments.
