State Rep. Apologizes for Sexting with Sydney Leathers, Unoriginality

Indiana state representative Justin Moed apologized Tuesday for a sexting affair with Sydney Leathers, who came to prominence during a similar affair with now-disgraced politician Anthony Weiner.

“I am truly sorry I have hurt the ones I love most with my poor judgment,” Moed, a Democrat engaged to be married this fall, told the Indianapolis Star. “I am committed to rebuilding trust with my family and my community. This is a private matter and I ask for it to be treated as such. I apologize to my constituents and to everyone I have let down.”

Moed became entangled with Leathers when he answered an ad for a submissive she could “financially dominate.” Leathers told Page Six the man who responded to “Bitch Boy” was careful to never give away his name, until the gifts he sent her through Amazon contained it on the invoice.

“I Googled him and found out he’s a lawmaker,” Leathers said. “Apparently only politicians can pick up on my pheromones.” (She has written the almost-literal book on the subject.)

In 2013 Weiner’s mayoral campaign was fatally wounded when it was revealed he had been engaged in a sexting affair with Leathers even as he was appearing on contrite television segments apologizing for previous indiscretions.
