Steve Bannon Reportedly the ‘Senior Trump Official’ Who Spoke to Roger Stone About WikiLeaks

An emerging newsflash indicates that Steve Bannon might have been the one who directed Roger Stone to be a contact between WikiLeaks and the Trump Campaign during the 2016 election.
Stone was arrested overnight for charges that include obstruction, making false statements and witness tampering. Ever since the news broke and Stone’s indictment became publicly available, political observers have taken particular interest in one part of it that might have a lot to do with President Donald Trump or those in his orbit.
“After the July 22, 2016 release of stolen DNC emails by Organization 1, a senior Trump Campaign official was directed to contact STONE about any additional releases and what other damaging information Organization 1 had regarding the Clinton Campaign. STONE thereafter told the Trump Campaign about potential future releases of damaging material by Organization 1”
According to CNBC, a source told them that Bannon, Trump’s former campaign CEO, was one of the “senior officials” who reached out to Stone at the time. The special counsel reportedly understands that Bannon texted Stone around October 7, 2016, to praise him after the first round of hacked DNC emails were made public.
From the indictment, per CNBC:
On or about October 7, 2016, Organization 1 released the first set of emails stolen from the Clinton Campaign chairman. Shortly after Organization 1′s release, an associate of the highranking Trump Campaign official sent a text message to STONE that read “well done.” In subsequent conversations with senior Trump Campaign officials, STONE claimed credit for having correctly predicted the October 7, 2016 release.
Bloomberg’s Joshua Green is also highlighting recent reports that corroborate the indications that Bannon and Stone spoke to each other about WikiLeaks just before the organization started releasing their email trove.
