SXSW Crash Victim Gets Private Hospital Concert
Mason Endres, one of the twenty-three injured when a man drove at full speed down a crowded Austin street at South By Southwest last week, finally got her concert.
This one came to her. Jacob and the Mill, who named Endres as one of their earliest supporters in Austin, visited Endres in the hospital and gave her and her family a rousing private show.
The eighteen year old suffered multiple broke bones after being hit head-on by the driver, who was fleeing a police stop and had driven through the barricades onto the closed-off street, killing two. Endres said she didn’t remember the accident or the ER, but that the excitement of the band had been keeping her going. “Today I felt better than I ever imagined I’d feel in the hospital,” she said.
