The First Baby Born in Chicago in 2016 Was Named Wrigley
At 12:12 a.m. CT on Sunday night, Ellen Dalbey gave birth to a baby girl, who weighed just under 6 pounds. Ellen and her husband Aaron Dalbey had already decided on the name for their daughter, who was the first baby born in Chicago in 2017.
The name? Wrigley Rose Dalbey.

For two Cubs fans like the Dalbeys, the name was pretty much a no-brainer in this, the year after the first Chicago Cubs championship since 1908. But according to the Chicago Tribune, the name had been chosen before the Cubbies sealed the deal.
“We knew some people would be questioning if we only named her that because they won the World Series,” Aaron Dalbey told the Tribune. “We like to let people know we chose the name before the Cubs won.”
Luckily for Wrigley Rose, the Cubs did indeed go all the way — and her name won’t be associated with 108 years of futility.
