The Onion Hails Glory of Print Media in Final Paper Edition
The Onion printed its last paper copy on Thursday, and it went out in style:

The paper started as a print publication in Madison, WI, but was down to only three markets (Chicago, Providence, and Milwaukee) when it announced last month that it would end its print run. The publication had been shifting to a largely web-based platform for some time—a move responsible, at least if you believe this article, for its decline in quality.
For the lulz, I checked the not-inconsiderable amount of newsstands and bookstores surrounding Mediaite’s SoHo office on the off-chance that the last issue had gotten some valedictory distribution. Aside from an old Onion newsbin stuffed in the entryway of one bookstore, not a leaf of the publication could be found.
“We don’t carry newspapers anymore,” a clerk at the NYU bookstore told me. “Not even satirical ones.”
