Tomi Lahren: Trump Supporters Shouldn’t Be Trying to Defend Roseanne’s ‘Indefensible’ Tweet
Fox News’ Tomi Lahren said last night that Trump supporters shouldn’t be trying to defend Roseanne Barr‘s “indefensible” racist tweet.
“What Roseanne tweeted was wrong,” Lahren said, “and there’s no way around it. And as Trump supporters, we shouldn’t play mental gymnastics trying to justify it. Come on. Wrong is wrong.”
She said Barr was right to apologize and right to say conservatives should not be coming out to defend her comment.
Lahren did go on to say there’s a clear media double standard, citing Jimmy Kimmel and Joy Behar and Bill Maher and Samantha Bee, and called it “frustrating” that pro-Trump conservatives “must walk the plank into professional purgatory, while those on the left are given a pass, and move on.”
“We know we’re held to a different standard,” Lahren said. “We must rise to the occasion and act the right way. The last thing we should do is lower our standards, even when the left gets away with lowering theirs. Our words, actions and ideas are more powerful when we can stand behind them.”
She did say the cancellation of Barr’s show may have been an “over-reaction,” before scolding people “trying to use Roseanne as a caricature of all Trump supporters.”
