Trevor Noah Urges Viewers to Retweet Maria Bartiromo After She Claimed She Was Being ‘Shadow Banned’

On Thursday night, Trevor Noah had some fun at the expense of Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo and other conservatives for insisting that tech giants were biased against them.

Noah began by mocking President Donald Trump and the Department of Justice for cracking down on social media platforms who’ve been accused of silencing conservatives, noting that perhaps the president believes conservatives are being censored is because his “only source of information keeps telling him so,” aka Fox News.

He then showed a clip of Bartiromo from last month, who insisted that a tweet she made about the Obama administration “got no life” despite it being something her followers and viewers “care about.”

“So I’m just wondering… was I shadow banned?” Bartiromo asked.

“No, Maria Bartiromo. Your post was just boring,” Noah reacted. “And I’m not even saying that just to be mean. We’ve all been there! Every one of us has posted something online that we were sure was going to break the internet.”

The Daily Show host said that he was “surprised” at how conservatives, who are known to oppose regulating private businesses, are becoming more in favor of regulating tech companies.

“So now, the government will spend all this time and money on something that could have been avoided if a few people like Maria Bartiromo got a few more likes. And you know what? We here at The Daily Show would like to help conservatives without having to drag Congress or the Justice Department,” Noah continued. “So we into it so we went through her Twitter looking for another tweet that didn’t get life and should have and I think we found one.”

It was a tweet from June 2016 that asked “Would you throw abort bday bash for your dog?” which only got four retweets and five likes. Noah noted that that “abort” was an auto-correct issue since “abort bday bash” isn’t a thing.

Noah then told his viewers that his show was going to retweet that post and asked them to “like” it and quote-tweet it with the hashtag “Tweetiromo.”

That tweet has since gotten over 500 retweets and over 1,800 likes.
