Trump Adviser Admits Katrina Pierson Was Wrong to Blame Obama for Capt. Khan’s Death

PicMonkey-Collage-PiersonOn Thursday, a high-level adviser for the Donald Trump campaign admitted to CNN that one of their top spokespeople used bogus statistics and arguments to blame the Obama Administration for the death of Captain Humayun Khan.

Alisyn Camerota interviewed Trump campaign national co-chair Sam Clovis Thursday morning on CNN’s New Day, and she asked him about campaign spokeswoman Katrina Pierson‘s recently insistence that Hillary Clinton and President Obama caused the death of Khizr Khan‘s son. Pierson walked things back somewhat after being fact-checked Wednesdayday, but Clovis indicated that the campaign was having a word with Pierson for using false information.

“I think we’re fixing it, I guarantee you that won’t happen again with her, that’s for sure,” Clovis said. “I think it’s important to come on here and have accurate information.”

Pierson faced waves of mockery for her blame-game, since Captain Khan’s death occurred years before the 2008 election. Clovis said he didn’t know where Pierson’s information came from, but he insisted he wasn’t throwing her under the bus.

“I think facts always help you,” Clovis said. “The truth always helps you, and I think that’s always where we ought to be.”
