Trump Could Endanger U.S.-Europe Relations, European Commission President Says
European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker said that Donald Trump‘s election posed a potential risk to U.S.-Europe relations, Reuters reported Friday.
Juncker said that Europeans would have to instruct Trump on what Europe is and how it works.
Juncker has also warned that Trump’s isolationist posture and threats to renege on NATO treaties would force Europe to grow its defenses and perhaps build an army.
“The Americans, to whom we owe much … will not ensure the security of the Europeans in the long term,” he said.
