Trump Touts Daily Mail Editor Saying Republicans Botched Messaging Over Comey Memos
He’s not putting down the phone.
President Donald Trump is back on the Twitter machine for at least the third time today. Trump spent a good portion of Saturday bashing James Comey over his newly-released memos, but curiously, now it seems the president is bashing Republicans for messing up the PR opportunity in the aftermath of the former FBI director’s notes being released from Congress.
Trump retweeted Daily Mail editor David Martosko after he made this observation about the memo release.
Putting aside the note about “collusion,” Trump decided to circulate a tweet saying that Comey’s memos boost the credibility of his claims that the president asked him to investigate the Fusion GPS dossier. This comes a day after Trump slammed Comey and called him a liar.
The timing of the Martosko retweet is rather interesting, considering he defended New York Times‘ Maggie Haberman earlier today after Trump personally attacked her this morning.

The Daily Mail reporter was reportedly considered in the running for White House press secretary when Trump assumed office in 2017.
