U.S. Treasury Reportedly Poised to Put a Woman’s Face on the $10 Bill
Earlier this year, a campaign gained steam to replace President Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill with a woman. More than 250,000 online voters ended up narrowing down the potential options to former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt, abolitionist Harriet Tubman, civil rights activist Rosa Parks, and former Cherokee Nation Chief Wilma Mankiller.
But now, according to a possibly premature tweet from the United States Institute of Peace’s Nancy Lindborg, Treasury Secretary Jack Lew is set to announce that a yet-to-be-named woman will be replacing Alexander Hamilton on the $10 bill.
Sec Lew announced 2day historic decision to feature a woman on new 10 dollar bill. About time! Share ideas on who to feature #TheNewTen.

CNN’s Michelle Kosinski posted a similar, though less explicit, tweet on Wednesday afternoon, indicating that Lindborg may have broken an embargo set for midnight tonight:
Big announcement from the Treasury's ENGRAVING department coming at midnight… can you guess what it is?

Back in March, a spokesperson for the Treasury Department told CNN that the $10 bill would be the next bill up for redesign in 2020.
