Was It Bane Again? The Best Twitter Conspiracy Theories About NYSE Trade Halt
Operations at United Airlines, The Wall Street Journal, and The New York Stock Exchange and came to a grinding halt Wednesday morning after a series of technical difficulties brought all three organizations to their knees. The NYSE gave a statement that all open orders have been canceled until a gateway can be reestablished, which is expected to come back online at around 3 P.M.
The Department of Homeland Security and other figures have denied so far that the incident was a result of hackers or outside attacks, but that has not stopped the Internet from coming up with its own theories and explanations for whats happening.
One of the most popular theories has been that Bane from the Batman/Dark Knight film trilogy is up to his old tricks.
