Watch Another GOP Lawmaker Run Away from DREAMers

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) isn’t the only Republican member of Congress who leaves the room as fast as he can when he is being confronted by young, undocumented immigrants. Following Paul’s incident with Rep. Steve King in Iowa this week, a couple of DREAMers decided to confront Rep. Steve Pearce (R-NM) as he made his way to a closed-door Republican Party event in downtown Albuquerque Thursday night.

Rather than stop and hear what the protesters had to say, Pearce walked quickly ahead without looking back. The DREAMers called out Pearce for his vote against the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, which would have allowed them two years of deportation relief.

“Mr. Peace, you voted to tear up our DACA cards, can you tear one up for us right now?” one of the protesters can be heard saying as they follow the congressman down the hall. “Can you do that in person? That’s basically what you voted to do!”
