WATCH BLASTOFF!!: NASA Launches Robotic Probe for Moon Mission
NASA launched a robotic probe to the moon late Friday night. The probe, named LADEE, will be investigating the moon’s atmosphere and studying “environmental influences on lunar dust.”
The White House touted the mission’s test for laser communications in space, which could potentially help boost “higher data rates from deep space.” Translation: internet on the moon!!!
LADEE took off without a hitch at exactly 11:27 PM EST. The NASALADEE Twitter feed live-tweeted the countdown, sharing some fun facts along the way:
