Watch Katie Ledecky Swim Against A Bunch of Collegians, Whose Resistance is Just So Totally Futile
This is just unfair.
Katie Ledecky, who won four Gold medals along with one Silver during the 2016 Summer Olympics is now competing at Stanford. She’s the current world record holder in the 400, 800, and 1,500 meter freestyle. She is without rival anywhere in the world.
And now, as a freshman at Stanford, she’s competing against a bunch of college kids who — try as they might — have absolutely no chance.
The video above shows Ledecky laying waste to her four competitors (two teammates from Stanford, two from the University of Texas) in the 1,000 yard freestyle, defeating them by a ridiculous 35 seconds.
She completed the course in a pool record of 9 minutes, 10.49 seconds. That time was more than 20 seconds faster than the previous record holder — four-time Olympic Gold medalist Janet Evans.
