WATCH LIVE: Students Walk Out at Schools Across America to Protest Gun Violence

Students are walking out at schools across America on Wednesday — exactly one month after the shooting at Majory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, FL in which 17 people were killed — to protest gun violence.

According to USA Today, almost 3,000 schools are participating in the protest.

Per The New York Times, the walkouts are scheduled to take place at 10:00 a.m. in each time zone. They are slated to last 17 minutes — one minute for each of those killed in the Parkland shooting. Many of the walkouts in the eastern time zone have already concluded, but the protests are ongoing from coast to coast.
