WATCH LIVE: White House Press Briefing With Sarah Sanders
White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders will hold a White House press briefing today. The briefing is scheduled to start at 2:30 PM ET.
Friday has already been an extremely busy news day and Sanders is sure to get a number of questions due to some of the developments we’ve seen in the past 24 hours. Shortly before the start of the briefing, the White House announced that President Donald Trump had issued a full pardon for former Dick Cheney aide Scooter Libby, who had been convicted of lying to the FBI and obstructing justice in 2007.
Meanwhile, the morning started with ABC News releasing a preview clip of ex-FBI Director James Comey’s interview with George Stephanopoulos that is scheduled to air in full on Sunday night. In the preview, Comey said that he felt it was possible that the “pee tape” could be real. Trump reacted to Comey’s comments by lashing out on Twitter, calling the former FBI chief an “unfaithful slime ball.”
Other topics expected to come up are the latest developments concerning Trump lawyer Michael Cohen and the confirmation battle regarding Secretary of State nominee Mike Pompeo.
