WATCH LIVE: White House Press Briefing with Sarah Sanders
White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders will hold a briefing Tuesday to discuss the administration’s latest plans and administrative agenda. The briefing is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. ET.
Today’s press briefing will most likely gravitate around Donald Trump‘s relationship with Emmanuel Macron after the last two days of diplomatic talks between the two leaders. Even though Trump is on friendly terms with the president of France, Macron appeared before a joint session of Congress earlier today and delivered a speech that was diametrically opposed to Trump’s policies and rhetoric in several prominent ways.
Another topic likely to come up is whether the White House still supports Ronny Jackson‘s nomination for VA Secretary. Confirmation hearings for the White House physician were suspended indefinitely after Congress learned of several troubling allegations of misconduct from Jackson’s past. Trump insists that he still stands behind Jackson, but strangely, he seemed to give Jackson leeway to decline the VA job.
Other subjects that might come up include Michael Cohen‘s ongoing legal troubles, Trump’s “honorable” compliment for Kim Jong Un, and OMB director Mick Mulvaney‘s questionable comments about lobbyists.
