WATCH: Ukranians Up the Protest Ante with a Fully Functional Catapult

As the nationwide protests against Ukranian president and perceived Putin ally Viktor Yanukovich escalate, the million-plus activists in Kiev have taken some wild and crazy (read: effective) tactics against government authorities. Exhibit A: A FREAKING CATAPULT.

Cobbling together an ancient medieval machine using scrap wood, a hard hat, and an understanding of physics, a handful of protestors in Central Kiev used the catapult (or a trebuchet, depending on how much you care about the differences) against police forces, hurling rocks at SWAT units.

RT was able to score footage of the pro-democracy catapult in action before it was destroyed by police. Watch below:
