Watch Vin Diesel Repeatedly Hit on a Female Journalist: ‘Look at Her. How am I Supposed to do This Interview?’
In an interview to promote XXX: Return of Xander Cage, Vin Diesel repeatedly hit on journalist Carol Moreira, interrupting the interview to comment on her appearance. Moreira put an introduction before the video, which she uploaded to YouTube and said that she was “very uncomfortable” with what went down, according to our cousin site Gossip Cop. She also says, “I was not sure what to do. I just laughed because it was a very delicate situation. I did not like it. At the time I did not know how to react, but you will see that I was uncomfortable, it was not legal and that he interrupted my work.”
The interview starts out fine enough, but at the 4:49 mark, while he’s answering a question about working with Tom Hanks, he stops and says, “God, you’re so beautiful. My god, she’s so beautiful, man. Am I right or wrong? Look at her. How am I supposed to do this interview? Look at this woman. She’s so beautiful. Talk to me, baby!”
Moeria tried to laugh it off and steered the interview back to his answer, saying “tell me your story,” he said, “Tell me your story! Let’s get outta here. Let’s go, let’s go have lunch. My god, I love her. Look how beautiful she is. God, wow, man.”
At 7:27, it happens again. Moeira wants to talk about Dungeons and Dragons, and he looks offscreen and says “You guys think this is a joke. How am I supposed to sit over here looking at such beauty? C’mon guys. She’s so beautiful. I’m in love. I’m in love with the interviewer.”
The interview is finally coming to an and, and Moeira is clearly uncomfortable. At 11:35, he whispers, “I love you.” Again, Moeira tries to laugh it off. “I love her. Man, she’s so f*cking sexy. I can’t do this interview. Look at her. Does anyone say this? Guys, what’s wrong? Am I the only one saying this? Look at her!”
It continues on in this manner. A source told Gossip Cop exclusively that the incident is a “non-story.” The source said, “He tries to make everybody feel comfortable… He doesn’t just sit there and give ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answers. He’s lively. He’s more animated. It’s just how he does junket interviews.”
What we saw seems to be more than “lively.” Moeira is obviously uncomfortable and the entire thing is completely awkward.
