White House On Iran Nuclear Threat: Politics, Not Physics

During today’s White House Press conference, Robert Gibbs was asked about comments made by the head of Iran’s Atomic Agency, who had earlier today cautioned President Obama against taking “wrong steps” and threatening, “the consequences are beyond the imagination of anybody…don’t test Iran.” Gibbs reply is sure to be a major talking point within all branches of government and on the opinion programs of cable media. He said that Iran’s statements are “based on politics, not on physics.”

Conservative critics of the administration will see this as an example of Obama being soft on national security and anti-Israeli. Liberal supporters will see this as a nuanced diplomatic approach that will dispassionately take the air out of the tension between Iran and US. So there you go – no need to watch any television tonight dear viewer!
