Joe Rogan referred to Israel’s bombing of Gaza as a “genocide” on Tuesday’s episode of The Joe Rogan Experience podcast.

Rogan was joined by fellow comedian Kurt Metzger for a lengthy chat that ended up focused quite a bit on the Israel-Hamas war.

While discussing Candace Owens recently parting ways with the Daily Wire amid accusations of antisemitism and a feud between Owens and Ben Shapiro, Rogan turned his attention to a leaked video showing an Israeli drone killing four men in Gaza shared by Edward Snowden on X, formerly Twitter.

“They’re always saying they’re only targeting Hamas, and everybody else is a casualty,” Rogan said of the Israeli government. “Well, if those guys are just unarmed civilians and they’re walking alone — that’s what they appear to be — and you just blast them from the sky with robots…”

Rogan continued, “If you can’t talk about that, if you can’t say that’s real, then you’re saying that genocide is okay as long as we’re doing it. And you’re saying that from the perspective of someone who literally went through the Holocaust or your people, your tribe. You went through the Holocaust and now you’re willing to do it?”

“I hope the irony’s not lost on you!” Metzger added.

“It’s so nuts,” Rogan said, adding, “You guys are willing to do what was done to you that led you to believe that you needed to start your own country?”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to continue striking Gaza until Hamas is completely eliminated. The strikes are in response to Hamas’ Oct. 7 terror attack which Israel said killed more than 1,200 people. Hundreds more were taken hostage in Gaza.

President Joe Biden and other U.S. officials have expressed concern about civilian deaths in Gaza, the amount which they have not confirmed but admit is in the thousands. Gaza’s health ministry, run by Hamas, estimates that more than 30,000 have been killed.
