‘Completely F*cked Up’: Tim Dillon Sparks Fury By Dressing Up As a Rabbi to Roast Bari Weiss’s CBS News Takeover

Podcaster and comedian Tim Dillon sparked a wave of anger over the weekend when he dropped an episode roasting reports that Bari Weiss is set to take over CBS News.

“Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the CBS Evening News. My name is Tim Dillon. I want to first start by thanking Bari Weiss for giving me the opportunity to sit here with you at the iconic CBS News desk,” began Dillon, who is a part of the so-called manosphere of alternative media podcasters. Dillon was dressed as an Orthodox Jewish man and had bagels and Manischewitz on his desk, while delivering a not-too-subtle rant about what he sees as Jewish influence over the media.

“I want to thank Paramount. I want to thank everybody who invested severely in me and Bari and the whole team at the Free Press to make sure that you are getting fearless, unbiased news coverage from a team whose only agenda is the truth—whose only agenda is the truth,” he continued in a promo clip he put out, adding:

We are not trying to come on here and spin and say, “Hey, you anti-semite pigs, eat your slop.” We’re not trying to say that. We’re trying to say the world is very big, and there’s a lot of people that have a lot of opinions that need to be corrected. And here at CBS News, we are going to devote every waking minute of our day to correcting all of you, very nice, you are barely going to notice its happening. You are barely going to notice we are there.

Dillon, who recently grabbed headlines for saying Saudi Arabia “paid him enough money to look the other way” and do a show there, was quickly called out on social media by both sides of the political spectrum.

Anti-woke author and pundit James Lindsay shared the clip and wrote, “Wasn’t that long ago we’d all have rightly and immediately recognized this as completely f-cked up.”

Author Guy David added, “So, Bari steps into a bigger media role, and Tim dresses up in ‘Orthodox’ garb to smirk about who is ‘in charge.’ That is not clever satire; it’s not even all that funny. It is the same old tropes recycled for a new audience.”

Dillon also found many defenders as controversy around the clip spiralled. Algemeiner’s Washington Correspondent Corey Walker replied to the clip, arguing, “To be fair to Dillon, he does this sort of thing to everyone. He’s done it to Muslims, Christians, etc. Comedians are often transgressive.” Algemeiner is a New York-based publication widely read by Hasidic Jews.
