BREAKING: Trump Wins Georgia, Decision Desk Projects

Donald Trump has won the battleground state of Georgia, Decision Desk HQ projected.
The state’s 16 electoral votes were called for Trump around 10:30 p.m. Eastern time.
Historically red Georgia went to Joe Biden in the 2020 election, making him the first Democratic presidential candidate since Bill Clinton in 1992 to win the state. Biden’s narrow victory by just 11,779 votes — a margin of just 0.2% — propelled Georgia to swing state status in national elections.
According to U.S. News and World Report, “eight of the last 12 Georgia winners ultimately won the presidency.”
Both Harris and Trump spent valuable campaign time trying to win over Georgia voters. NBC reported that Trump and JD Vance visited the state a total of 10 times, while Harris and Tim Walz visited eight times.
Georgia featured prominently in Trump’s claims that the 2020 election was stolen from him. He famously called Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (R-GA) on Jan. 2, 2021, to insist that he overturn the state’s election results, which Raffensperger refused to do.
Earlier Tuesday, police in Fulton County, GA, said several polling locations received bomb threats. Two of those locations were evacuated and temporarily closed. Officials immediately filed a court order to keep those polling locations open an extra 30 minutes to make up for the time those polls were closed. Raffensperger said later that the threats were “of Russian origin.”
