Fox’s Maria Bartiromo Asks House Republican if He’s Really Willing ‘to Break the Constitution’ for Trump to Get a Third Term

Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo spoke to Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN ) on Thursday and pressed him on whether or not he really wants President Donald Trump to serve a third term — asking him if he’s prepared to “break the Constitution” for that to happen.

The conversation began with a discussion on the recent court decision striking down Trump’s sweeping global tariffs. Bartiromo asked, “Congressman, is this about what President Trump is calling an emergency? Do you think the trade court sticks? How do you see it?”

“Well, I don’t know what the outcome is going to be, but I agree with the appeal. For too long now, some of these countries have really manipulated the trade situation, taken advantage of the American consumer, and access to the American market. When you look at Trump’s approach, he wanted to level the playing field and truly have open trade,” Ogles replied.

As the conversation continued, Ogles agreed with Trump and his allies accusing judges of “judicial overreach” in pulling back some of Trump’s most controversial moves, which often fall outside the scope law.

“Oh, absolutely. I mean, enough is enough. And so again, I was a part of a delegation that traveled to Europe, met with members of the parliament, prime ministers across the country, and they want a deal with the United States. They understand that they’re better off when they have a deal with us than to have these woke activist judges,” Ogles fumed, adding:

We’ve seen it all across the spectrum: in the civil, the criminal, and, of course, in these international courts. And so I think it’s great that Trump is pushing back and fighting back. And quite frankly, I’d love for Trump to have a third term so we can reset these courts and actually have folks who follow the law and the Constitution versus their ideological positions.

“So you’re willing to break the Constitution and have President Trump have a third term?” Bartiromo pressed.

“Well, actually, I have a bill that amends the Constitution, and there’s a process by which you can do that. Now, let’s be honest — that’s a tough and long road,” Ogles replied, adding:

It has to go through the House, it has to go to the Senate, it has to be ratified by the states. But I think what it does is it forces a conversation when you juxtapose the Trump administration—his vision for America—versus the failed policies of Joe Biden and what he did to the economy and international trade.

Bartiromo followed up, “Yeah, I mean, the bill made a big splash when you first launched it. What kind of reception have you gotten from colleagues on that bill?”

“You know, again, it’s one of those that forces a conversation. We have a lot of support in the House. I think we haven’t pushed it aggressively, quite frankly, because we’ve been working on reconciliation. But, you know, that being said, we all acknowledge the fact that getting it through the finish line — getting it ratified by the states — would be a challenge. But it forces that conversation to say: what future, what vision do you have for America? And I think the Trump vision is clearly what the American people want,” Ogles replied.

“It sure does,” agreed Bartiromo.
