House Oversight Chair Comer Complains Colleague Jamie Raskin ‘Runs to the White House’ to Tattle About Biden Subpoenas

House Oversight Chair James Comer (R-KY) announced new subpoenas in his investigation of President Joe Biden on Thursday and accused a Democratic colleague of directly working with the White House to undermine his efforts.

Comer told Fox Business’ Maria Bartiromo he will get credit card records “one way or another,” but claimed Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), the ranking member on the House Oversight Committee, “runs to the White House” to warn them about subpoenas.

“Remember, when I issue a subpoena, Jamie Raskin gets a copy of that, the ranking member. He, you know, runs to Abbe Lowell, he runs to the White House. He shows them the subpoena. The White House will immediately call the financial institution or the individual being subpoenaed and then threaten them and try to obstruct and encourage them to not cooperate with our investigation,” Comer said on Mornings with Maria.

Comer said he’s planning on subpoenaing credit card companies, including American Express, for the personal financial information of Biden family members, claiming personal expenses were paid by foreign entities.

“Remember we’re subpoenaing very sensitive information, personal information from the Biden family,” Comer said. “At the beginning of this investigation nobody felt we would ever be able to obtain that information but we’ve done everything the right way and we’re winning, we’re in a position we can win in court and I believe that we’ll be able to obtain the credit card information.”

Raskin and others have repeatedly dismissed the probe by House Republicans, saying they have no direct evidence of the corruption they are alleging which includes Joe Biden benefitting from and influencing his son’s foreign business deals while he was serving as vice president.

President Biden and his son Hunter Biden have denied any wrongdoing. A former business associate of Hunter’s, Devon Archer, previously testified that there was a “soft abuse” of power in which he and Hunter Biden would insinuate that there was a direct connection to the White House to partners, but he also testified he had no direct knowledge of Joe Biden actually being involved in the deals. Archer described Hunter Biden receiving calls from his father during meetings, but said business was never discussed.

Another former business associate, Rob Walker, also testified Joe Biden was not directly involved in any business deals.

At a press conference last month (on a day he was set to testify for the committee), Hunter Biden accused Republicans of exploiting his past addiction and mistakes to get political points against his father.
