John Oliver Absolutely Destroys Donald Trump With Deep Dive on Border Wall

Former Daily Show fill-in host John Oliver has, since being given his own HBO show, developed his own trademark way of imbuing Last Week Tonight with the relevance and influence that his former show once boasted: the comedic deep dive. On this week’s episode, a richly-deserving target got the John Oliver treatment, as the host spent the better part of the show knocking down the border wall that Donald Trump has been promising since he descended that escalator in June and called Mexicans rapists.

Oliver examines the ballooning cost of the wall, the many obstacles that have already surfaced from past efforts to build a border fence, and, true to form, offers a creative solution to the immigration problem that somehow involves small appliances.
