Laura Loomer Launches Shocking Attack On Iranian-American Congresswoman: ‘No Such Thing as Hate Speech, Muslima’

Trump ally and MAGA influencer Laura Loomer launched a shocking attack on Rep. Yassamin Ansari (D-AZ) on Monday, calling her “Muslima.”
The exchange began with Loomer telling her 1.7 million followers on X that “If you are a Christian or a Jew and you live in a city with a large Muslim population, you need to be armed.”
Loomer added, “If you are an assimilated Muslim who embraces the US and you are proudly American and against the Islamic regime, you also need to protect yourself. Jihadists will try to harm anyone who they view as an infidel or an apostate. We have over 2 million Iranian proxies living in our country.”
Loomer’s comments appeared related to the concern that Iran may have placed “sleeper cells” of terrorists in the U.S. – who are waiting to strike targets in response to President Donald Trump’s bombing of Iranian nuclear sites on Saturday.
Ansari replied to Loomer and argued, “This is textbook hate speech. Laura Loomer is calling for mass deportations of Muslim immigrants and for Americans arming themselves against anyone who may look like they are from the Middle East—Muslim or not. Disgustingly racist and dangerous. I have no doubt the Trump regime will use their own reckless war mongering as justification for more $ for ICE.”
Loomer, who once described Islam as a “cancer” and declared herself a “proud Islamophobe,” has long been a controversial figure in the MAGA world. Last week, Loomer accused Tucker Carlson of being “controlled by Muslims” over his vocal opposition to Israel’s attacks on Iranian military sites.
Loomer also stirred controversy during the 2024 presidential election as she traveled with then-candidate Trump on 9/11 to memorial services. Loomer’s presence with Trump stirred anger as she had suggested in the past that the 9/11 terror attacks were an “inside job.”
Loomer replied to Ansari, writing, “There’s no such thing as Hate Speech, Muslima. You are a Muslim who came from Iran and now you’re serving in Congress. Of course, you have an issue with what I said. You want our country to be subverted by proxies. I voted for Trump because he said he would address the Muslim Problem. This is what millions of Americans voted for.”
Ansari hit back, “I was born in Seattle to US citizen parents. I’m proudly agnostic and proudly Iranian-American. Assumptions, accusations, and threats like these are dangerous—a state lawmaker was just assassinated for her political views. Speech like this incites violence that can cost lives.”
Loomer is widely seen as having Trump’s ear and serving as a kind of informal advisor. In recent months, she has reportedly been the driving force behind some of Trump’s key decisions, including removing his National Security Advisor Mike Waltz – who has since been named as UN ambassador.
