Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley needled her old boss turned opponent Donald Trump on Thursday, sharing a meme depicting him as a Halloween costume for the “Weakest General Election Candidate Ever.”

The packaging on the parody costume reads:

Includes: $50M In Legal Fees, Terrible Poll Numbers, Social Media Rants, Temper Tantrums

Not Included: Private Jet, Diet Coke

“Democrats are ecstatic about the prospect of running against Donald Trump,” asserted Haley in her post sharing the image. “They couldn’t dream up a worse general election candidate if they tried. Between his legal drama, his terrible poll numbers, and his confusion, Trump will hand Democrats a big victory.”

Recent polling from Quinnipiac University indicates that while Haley would easily dispatch President Joe Biden in general election contest (47%-42%), Trump would again lose to Biden, and by an even wider margin (50%-44%). That would be an even more crushing defeat for the likely Republican nominee than he suffered as an incumbent back in 2020.

Campaign finance disclosures have also indicated that Trump is not raising enormous sums of money and is wasting much of the money he does raise on his legal fees. Between the political action committees supporting him and his actual campaign, Trump’s political operation spent around $60 million on combatting the four criminal indictments and numerous civil cases that have kept the former president in the courtroom and off of the campaign trail.

Earlier this week, Haley argued on Hugh Hewitt’s radio show that “the first thing we have to understand is Trump cannot beat Biden in an election. That’s a fact. We know that.”

“He doesn’t win independents. No one can win a general election if you don’t have independents. He doesn’t win suburban women. He has lost some Republicans who don’t like his style,” she added.
